Mission & Goals
In recognition of the fact that young professionals throughout Georgia are faced with a common and unique set of challenges when just beginning their careers, the Georgia Planning Association (GPA) decided to focus on YPG needs and well….here we are.
We intend for the YPG to be comprised of up and coming planning leaders and innovative thinkers. The YPG is open to planning professionals age 35 and under and to students. Experienced planners are encouraged to participate as educators and mentors to YPG members.
The YPG provides a forum for networking, learning new skills, and above all, having fun. Our meetings will be a combination of social events and technical discussions, taking place in informal settings. We will bring in people who have been involved in planning (both from the public and private sectors) to interact with YPG members and to provide information geared toward young professionals.
Georgia YPG Short Term Goals (2009-2010)
The Georgia YPG’s overall mission is to focus on helping young professional planners establish social and professional relationships with their peers and experienced planning professionals through career building programs, social events, and mentoring opportunities. The Georgia YPG will strive to cultivate the minds of young planning professionals through educational programs on the issues and trends that are relevant to planning the communities of tomorrow.
